Rooms in the home
Here are some useful room words:
das Zimmer = the room
das Wohnzimmer = the living room
das Schlafzimmer = the bedroom
die Küche = the kitchen
das Bad = the bathroom
These are good beginner words because they are common and easy to picture.
Things at home
Here are a few common things you may see at home:
der Tisch = the table
der Stuhl = the chair
das Bett = the bed
die Lampe = the lamp
die Tür = the door
das Fenster = the window
These words are useful in everyday German and work well in simple sentences.
Saying where something is
A useful pattern is:
… ist im … = … is in the …
Examples:
Der Tisch ist im Wohnzimmer. = The table is in the living room.
Das Bett ist im Schlafzimmer. = The bed is in the bedroom.
Die Lampe ist im Zimmer. = The lamp is in the room.
For now, learn im as one useful word in this pattern.
A simple grammar point
You already know ist from sein.

Now you are adding a place after it.
Pattern:
thing + ist + place
Examples:
Der Stuhl ist in der Küche.

Useful question
A helpful question is:

Examples:
Wo ist das Bett? = Where is the bed?
Wo ist die Lampe? = Where is the lamp?
