In this lesson, you’ll learn the German numbers from 0 to 20. These numbers are useful in everyday life for age, prices, time, dates, and simple conversations.

Numbers 0–10
Here are the first German numbers:
null = 0
eins = 1
zwei = 2
drei = 3
vier = 4
fünf = 5
sechs = 6
sieben = 7
acht = 8
neun = 9
zehn = 10
These are the most important numbers to learn first.
Numbers 11–20
Now let’s look at the next set:
elf = 11
zwölf = 12
dreizehn = 13
vierzehn = 14
fünfzehn = 15
sechzehn = 16
siebzehn = 17
achtzehn = 18
neunzehn = 19
zwanzig = 20
Some of these numbers follow a pattern:
- dreizehn = 13
- vierzehn = 14
- fünfzehn = 15
You do not need to memorize the pattern perfectly yet. Just start getting used to seeing and hearing these words.
